Reporting to the Manager, Rehabilitation, the Supervisor, Physiotherapy role is responsible for:
Supervising and managing the Physiotherapy team
Coordinating the clinical caseload
Supporting and collaborating the wider IDT
Ensuring the service and patient outcomes are optimised
Monitoring the delivery of the divisions strategic and operational goals
The Supervisor, Physiotherapy will perform examinations, diagnoses, physical therapy and rehabilitation treatments for patients, as required to support the wider physiotherapy team. The Supervisor, Physiotherapy will monitor compliance with MH and DOH/DHA policies, procedures, guidelines and standards across the physiotherapy team, and role model these when required.
Responsibilities
Deliver patient assessments and treatment planning as required to support the wider physiotherapy team.
Support the prioritisation of the caseload in accordance with primary healthcare principles and the available resources in order to ensure coverage of all cases.
Provides mentorship and support to team members as needed.
Ensure knowledge sharing and continuing professional development is encouraged across the physiotherapy team.
Manages the store stock requisitions and justifications as well as housekeeping utilities requests related to physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
Conducts regular checks of rehabilitation and physiotherapy equipment and co-ordinates with the respective vendors for any maintenance/replacement required.
Develops and maintains clinical documents in an accurate and timely manner that reflect specific information and services provided to the patient.
Qualifications
Education
BSc in Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy
Direct entry of a recognized program withattainment of MSc degree in Physiotherapy
Experience
Minimum of 6 years of experience post qualification in the physiotherapy and rehabilitation field with 2 years in a
supervisory role
Completion of specialty qualification as per the recognized specialty certificate (DOH/DHA guidelines)
Preferred
Worked in a JCI accredited hospital/medical environment
Certification and Licensure
DOH/DHA Professional License
Certifications in:
o Musculoskeletal physiotherapy o Neurological (adult and paediatric) physiotherapy o Cardiopulmonary physiotherapy
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Job Specific Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy, neurological physiotherapy, paediatric physiotherapy, pre and post-operative rehabilitation relevant procedures and current best practices
Strong understanding of physiotherapy and rehabilitation relevant regulations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of budget management, cost control practices, and strategic planning
Ability to motivate, mentor, and support colleagues as needed
Understanding of management principles, and leadership styles
Ability to communicate and relay messages to patients in a culturally sensitive manner
