Job Description

Initiates the withdrawal and/or procurement of equipment, appliances, furniture and furnishings, materials and supplies needed in housing operations. Monitors their movements from the warehouses and satellite storages to housing units and vice-versa. Develops and maintains sound inventory system of all KFSH&RC (Gen. Org.) housing assets (fixed, movable, dispensable, etc...).
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
1. Monitors the general condition of all housing properties and submits operationally feasible proposals to ensure that the acceptable standard of such properties are maintained. Initiates short and long term measures that would address depreciation. 2. Coordinates with other service departments for upgrading and/or replacements of housing components, such as floor carpet, major appliances, and other special projects, as needed. 3. Maintains adequate inventory of stocked items. Monitors level of inventory and prepares procurement requests and coordinates the preparation of documents for new/re-order of stocked items, as needed. Initiates requests for stocked items withdrawal from Logistics Services. 4. Prepares packets of single and family status set up items and delivers them to housing units/bedrooms scheduled for occupancy, then submits copies for inventory purposes. 5. Develops plans and programs for the gradual replacement and/or upgrading of household furniture. Recommends proposals for expeditious re-upholstery of cushioned furniture items. 6. Maintains waiting list for re-upholstery as appropriate. Ensures that movements of tagged furniture items are properly recorded immediately after delivery and/or retrieval. 7. Oversees the usage of recycled items from storeroom, while maintaining quality of service to reduce costs. Ensures that items returned to storeroom are cleaned, separated and stored for re-use. Performs periodic disposal of unusable or obsolete items. 8. Coordinates the annual physical inventory of all housing items in storage, maintains inventory records at all times, and prepares annual report or when directed. 9. Maintains the cleanliness of all warehouse facilities. Ensures that Hospital safety procedures are observed by warehouse personnel to prevent injuries and damage to or loss of properties. 10. Supervises the assigned tasks to subordinates. Provides training to the new employees and/or contract labours. Evaluates the performance of subordinates, and counsels subordinates to improve performance. Recommends disciplinary actions when necessary.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, or any related discipline is required.
Experience Required
One (1) year of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or three (3) years of related experience with Diploma is required.
