Job Description

Job Purpose:

To oversee and perform all technical tasks related to the

switching, commissioning, and maintenance

of high-voltage

transmission substations

up to

400kV

, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with KAHRAMAA/GCC standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform

operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting

of transmission substations (up to 400kV). Supervise and execute

switching procedures

, ensuring system safety and reliability. Coordinate and lead

commissioning activities

including testing, inspections, and energization of substation equipment. Monitor and maintain

protection and control systems

, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and associated equipment. Prepare and maintain

technical documentation

, reports, and records of operations and incidents. Ensure compliance with

KAHRAMAA regulations

,

HSE standards

, and international best practices. Liaise with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely and quality execution of works. Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with minimal downtime. Provide

technical guidance

to junior engineers and field technicians.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.E/B.Tech) in

Electrical Engineering

. Minimum

7 years of experience

in

transmission substation switching, commissioning, and maintenance

. Experience with

KAHRAMAA substations

in Qatar or

GCC

utility projects is

mandatory

. Sound knowledge of

substation protection, SCADA systems

, and high-voltage equipment. Familiar with

electrical safety standards

, testing procedures, and commissioning protocols. Valid

Qatar NOC

required for local candidates.

Skills Required:

Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Excellent communication and documentation abilities Ability to work independently and under pressure Strong understanding of electrical schematics and layout drawings Knowledge of relevant software (e.g., ETAP, AutoCAD, SCADA interfaces)
