Job Description

Wood is recruiting for a Study Manager to join our Process, Technology and Consulting group in Abu Dhabi on a staff basis.

Responsibilities

+ Undertake the execution of Studies (e.g. concept studies, feasibility assessments and pre-FEED) as assigned by Manager, Upstream or PTaC Management;

+ Manage all matters affecting execution of the contract, including preparation of project schedule, management of project risk, costs, profit and loss accounting and Client invoicing, including effective close out of the project, engaging appropriate Wood departments when necessary;

+ Identify and communicate project objectives, in accordance with the contract terms, scope of work and corporate policy, to the project team, PTaC Management Team, relevant Departmental Managers and Client;

+ Ensure that Wood and Client's Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Procedures are complied with and the schedule and budget for the work are met;

+ Organise, manage and motivate the project team to achieve the health, safety, environmental, schedule performance, cost and quality requirements of the project, from contract award to Client's acceptance;

+ Negotiate any contract changes with the Client as necessary;

+ Manage relationships with Clients, their agents, any joint venture partners and any third parties, such as licensors or technology providers, including confidentiality and intellectual property protection, ensuring resolution of any concerns/ issues in an appropriate time frame. Be aware of, and respond to, customer needs whilst still achieving project and Wood corporate objectives;

+ Record and address any deficiencies and possible changes to the established Wood methods, standards and data and possible fields for technical investigations, developments and computer programs;

+ Lead or provide technical input to sales and proposal activities;

+ Undertake other relevant activities as requested and defined by Manager, Upstream;

+ Provide assistance to other disciplines and participate in review meetings, in accordance with Project requirements;

+ Be vigilant for, and advise respective Manager, Upstream of any deficiencies and possible improvements to the established Wood design methods, standards and data and of possible fields for technical investigations, developments and computer programs;

+ Support internal development and continuous improvement activities as required. Lead continuous improvement in project performance; promote continuous improvement in PTaC and Wood corporate performance;

+ Keep informed, by reasonable means, of technical developments in the Oil and Gas industry and make recommendations to respective Group Manager on methods of improving Wood's competitive position from a technical standpoint;

+ Support recruitment and performance appraisal activities within the group. Undertake technical training as authorised by Manager, Upstream to further career development and/ or Wood capability;

+ Identify and promote further business opportunities for Wood. Promote Wood's achievements in upstream oil and gas internally and externally and increase customer awareness of Wood's upstream oil and gas capability. Lead and support assigned proposals including developing execution strategies and manpower projections, in conjunction with proposals and other relevant disciplines; Present project execution plans, schedules and manpower plans at proposal review stage, and organise/ participate in review, when requested.

+ Degree qualified Engineer in Chemical, Mechanical or other suitable subject; chartered professional.

+ Minimum 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

+ Ability to manage own work and the work of others

+ Strong customer focus and team-working skills

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Demonstrates adaptability and the ability to grasp unfamiliar concepts, as well as to analyse and resolve multi-dimensional problems

+ Flexible, supporting several studies at the same time without missing milestones

+ Extensive experience in upstream oil and gas developments, including the following key topics: study management, masterplanning, feasibility and concept studies, pre-FEED, GOSP experience, gas plant experience (AGRU, NGL recovery).

+ Experience working in a Study Management role for ADNOC Offshore or ADNOC Gas Processing.

+ 3+ years' experience working in a Study Management role for Middle Eastern Clients on upstream related opportunities, including GOSPs, gas plants, etc.
