Hult Dubai is seeking a Student Wellbeing Advisor & Counsellor to join our busy central Dubai campus for 20 hours per week.
The role holder would be providing counselling & wellbeing appointments to students both face-to-face & online, while also working on contributing to the overall student wellbeing through various wellbeing initiatives and workshops.
The Student Wellbeing Advisor & Counsellor would work alongside the global Student Wellbeing & Counselling Team to support students with their mental health & wellbeing so that they are able to successfully complete their studies.
Duties & Responsibilities:

• Clinical duties of the Student Wellbeing Advisor & Counsellor
• Provide initial assessments sessions for students to gain an understanding of the presenting issues and how the students might best be supported
• Provide one-to-one individual counselling appointments of 50 minutes and/or wellbeing appointments of 30 minutes. Style of support is to be determined by the student s need and the availability of the service; however, much of the work is short-term, and solution focused
• To work autonomously, carrying and managing a caseload, where the nature of the work can be quick and unpredictable
• Keep accurate and confidential session case notes as required by data protection and in line with an ethical framework
• Refer students to external services where support within the service is not appropriate nor beneficial to the student s wellbeing
• Regularly assess risk factors for students they are seeing and at times undertake undertake specialist case work with students, acting as a first point of contact for students in crisis.
• Attend campus assessment response evaluation (CARE) meetings to identify and assess students at risk.
• Post holder will be provided with internal peer-to-peer supervision via the Student Wellbeing & Counselling Manager
• Other duties
• Organize regular wellbeing initiatives and workshops in collaboration with other departments
• Promote awareness of the school s wellbeing services.
• To participate in orientation & graduation (including preparing and delivering presentations as appropriate) for both campuses, and awareness raising events
• Build networks within the school and externally to support students
• Actively promote equality and inclusivity in all duties.
• Requirements
• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with a relevant professional qualification in the field of mental health
• Must have professional licensure from the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA) as a Licensed Social Professional
• At least one year of work experience in private counselling.
• Psychologically robust and able to withstand the inevitable stresses and pressures of the role; and can ask for support when needed.
• An understanding of the issues relating to student health & mental wellbeing, experience of supporting students in crisis and an ability to advise other staff on supporting students in crisis
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, demonstrating appropriate communication and advanced interpersonal skills, including communication of assessment outcome verbally and using IT skills.
• Strong team player, with a positive attitude.
• Cultural sensitivity given the diverse population of students and faculty members.
