Job Description

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications. Familiarity with construction materials, structural systems, and load-bearing principles. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Proficiency in report writing and documentation. Competence in using inspection tools, measuring devices, and relevant software. Good communication skills for liaising with contractors, engineers, and project managers. Conduct routine and special inspections of structural components (steel, concrete, timber, etc.). Assess construction work for compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations. Verify that materials used meet required standards and specifications. Prepare detailed inspection reports with findings, photos, and recommendations. Maintain accurate logs of inspections, defects, and corrective actions taken. Communicate deficiencies to contractors and ensure timely rectification. Ensure all structural works adhere to approved drawings, standards, and project requirements. Review and verify test reports from material laboratories and NDT specialists. Participate in quality audits and assist in developing inspection checklists. Promote and enforce safety regulations during inspections. Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and external inspectors. Provide technical advice and recommendations to resolve on-site issues.
