To lead and supervise fabrication and installation teams in the construction, repair, and modification of marine vessels and offshore structures. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in structural fabrication, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise day-to-day operations of structural fabrication and installation crews on shipyard or vessel projects.
Review blueprints, specifications, and work orders to plan and schedule work activities.
Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment needed for project tasks.
Ensure fabrication and assembly of hulls, decks, bulkheads, foundations, and superstructures meet engineering and quality standards.
Inspect work throughout fabrication and installation stages for accuracy and quality assurance.
Enforce all safety policies and procedures; lead daily safety meetings and ensure PPE compliance.
Communicate project progress, challenges, and solutions to Project Managers or Site Supervisors.
Provide hands-on technical support when needed, including layout, fitting, welding, and rigging tasks.
Maintain timekeeping, production records, and project documentation.
Mentor and train junior fabricators, fitters, and welders to ensure high performance and skill growth.
Coordinate work with other trades, including welding, pipefitting, electrical, and rigging teams.
