Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Engineer with expertise in

FEA modeling of ISO shipping containers

and experience in producing structural analysis reports compliant with Dubai Building Code and international standards. You will be responsible for analysing, validating, and optimising our modular container buildings for safety, code compliance, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities:

Model shipping container structures, including cut-outs, reinforcements, and stacking configurations using appropriate structural analysis tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, RFEM, or similar). Perform accurate finite element analysis (FEA) to simulate real-world conditions including wind, seismic, and point loads. Collaborate with the design team to validate structural changes in container modules. Prepare detailed structural analysis reports in compliance with Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, and international building codes (IBC, Eurocode). Integrate structural models with architectural and MEP models where required. Coordinate with external certification bodies or consultants when necessary. Support the development of standard structural templates for container-based building types (e.g., G+1, G+5, etc.). Conduct value engineering to optimise steel usage without compromising structural integrity. Supervise third-party engineering verifications and liaise with authorities during approval processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. Minimum 5-8 years of experience in structural design. Experience in container-based or modular construction.

Strong command of at least one FEA tool: ANSYS, Abaqus, RFEM, or equivalent.

Experience with STAAD.Pro for overall building modeling is a plus. Familiarity with ISO 1496, IBC, Eurocode, and Dubai/UAE Building Codes. Proficiency in CAD/BIM tools such as Revit, and AutoCAD. Ability to interpret and generate structural drawings and technical documentation. Excellent written and spoken English for preparing reports and interacting with authorities.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience in container structural retrofitting and reinforcement. Strong understanding of load paths in modular construction. Passion for innovation in sustainable or alternative building systems. UAE/Gulf region project experience is a significant advantage.
