The team is now looking for a enthusiastic and talented structural engineer to join our Doha office with min 5 years experience working in reputable structural design consultancy firm. The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join our Doha team in Qatar to work on the design of some of the most exciting structural design projects in Qatar and regionally around the Gulf.

As a structural engineer, working with and guided by a team of senior engineers and working closely with colleagues in a multi-disciplinary environment, you will carry out detailed structural engineering design and analysis.

You will use your knowledge and expertise to define and translate clients' needs into designs for buildings, infrastructure, facilities and services with sustainability at the forefront of the design.

In addition, you will be given the opportunity to take part in our Digital Engineering initiatives and a wide range of training and development opportunities. You will work across a variety of sectors such as Education, Commercial, Healthcare, Retail, Industrial and Residential, and will have the opportunity and support over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and whilst you are mentored towards chartership, if not already Chartered. The Skills

Having a UPDA license from Ministry of Municipality and already been accredited with an MEng degree level (or equivalent) to enable Chartership with IStructE or ICE will be advantageous, you will have already gained strong design experience of structural engineering within a reputable consultancy environment and have a competent level of experience in structural analysis of buildings. Relevant IT skills including experience using structural design software CSI (SAP2000, ETABS & SAFE) is essential for this role as well as AutoCAD and BIM (Revit).

Experience in reinforced concrete structures as well as steel structure are essential for this role.

Experience in high rise design in seismic regions will be looked upon favourably for the successful candidate. Experience using Euro Codes, BS and American codes is required.

You have proven ability to produce creative design solutions in multiple materials, including steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, and crucially - have a passion for creative and intuitive design.

You have proven to lead structural design projects under the guidance of your team leader including coordination with other team disciplines.

You have a working understanding and passionate of Parametric Modelling (Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB) and Engineering Optimisation Techniques and basic knowledge in the application of Machine Learning.

Given the collaborative and often client focused nature of this role, effective communication skills and experience of using your initiative to overcome challenges are essential.

Main Duties & Responsibilities: Manage engineering projects and co-ordinate resource and activities to achieve short-term time and financial targets Produce engineering designs, calculations and specifications, using appropriate technical software Co-ordinate input from other disciplines and specialisms as required Prepare technical reports in accordance with clients' briefs Supervise and co-ordinate the production of technical drawings Check calculations, specifications, drawings and reports produced by others, in accordance with Operational Procedures Attend and participate in client and (internal and external) project meetings Undertake site visits to monitor the progress of works against Cundall's specification, and highlight issues to the contractor, client and/or (internal or external) project manager as necessary Report regularly to relevant Associate(s) on the performance of projects against agreed project plans and budgets Correspond with external third parties (eg clients, contractors, architects and/or manufacturers) regarding information and technical queries Comply with project management, Operational (QA), Environmental and Health and Safety procedures Provide training and coaching to less experienced staff Proactively manage own continuing professional development (including, where appropriate, actively pursuing Chartership with an appropriate professional institution).
