Job Summary

Nad Al Shiba Engineering Consultants is seeking an experienced and highly skilled

Structural Department Head

to lead our structural engineering division. The ideal candidate will have

15+ years of UAE experience

, proven leadership capabilities, and a strong portfolio of completed projects across residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. This senior role requires expertise in structural design, coordination, team management, and authority approvals within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the structural engineering department, ensuring high-quality design and technical outputs. Oversee structural design for various project types including residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, Dubai Municipality regulations, and other authority requirements. Review and approve structural drawings, calculations, and design reports. Coordinate closely with architectural, MEP, and project management teams to ensure integrated project delivery. Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance oversight for the structural team. Lead value engineering, risk assessment, and design optimization initiatives. Attend client, consultant, contractor, and authority meetings as required. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and department resources effectively.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

15+ years of professional experience in the UAE

(consultancy experience preferred). Strong expertise in structural design, analysis, and local construction practices. In-depth knowledge of UAE authority regulations (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, etc.). Proficiency in structural design software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD, etc.). Excellent leadership, communication, coordination, and decision-making skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and lead cross-functional teams.
