Job Purpose

Direct and oversee the Strategic Engineering to support Plant System and Component Engineering with depth and scope coverage, including; development and implementation of Equipment Reliability (ER) programs and provide engineering support to preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PDM) programs; provide Reactor Engineering services to plant operations; provide for the design and system support functions for the man-machine interface system (MMIS) and digital I&C for Common Q and Ovation systems; provide Engineering Functional support with strategic planning, technical leadership and performance improvement; all of which support operation of Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP).

Strategic Engineering Program Development
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Direct and oversee the development and implementation of a Strategic Engineering program in Major Asset Engineering to ensure that Plant System and Component engineering are well supported from a technical depth and a scope coverage standpoint to ensure that systems and components important to the safe, reliable operation of BNPP are actively monitored and managed.

  • Direct and oversee the development and implementation of the Reactor Engineering program to ensure plant operations are well supported from technical depth and scope coverage standpoint to ensure Core reload capabilities and verification, fuel loading, Barakah Core Management system and reactivity management important to the safe, reliable operation of BNPP are actively monitored and managed.

  • Direct and oversee the development and implementation of the design and system engineering functions for Man Machine Interface System (MMIS) and Digital Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems to ensure that:Plant nuclear safety remains adequate; Regulatory standards are met; plant configuration is maintained; Human performance is adequately accounted for; Plant effectiveness is maintained or improved according to the corporate objectives; the design and support safety and non-safety related analysis for the assigned systems and ensure all cyber security requirements are met.

  • Direct and oversee the development and implementation of Equipment Reliability related programs, such as System Health Monitoring, System Health Evaluation, Plant Health Committee (PHC), Plant Top Ten ER related issues, Equipment Reliability Index (ERI) Maintenance Rule (MR) Program, Single Point of Vulnerability (SPV) program, PM support to the maintenance function, and engineering performance indicators to ensure that plant system and component reliability is managed in a safe and reliable manner at all times.

  • Direct and oversee the development and implementation of strategic plans and performance improvement plans to ensure that the overall Engineering Function will continue to evolve and meet the needs of the plants for safe reliable operation in compliance with applicable Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) regulations.

Outage and Emergency Response Organization (ERO) Support
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.

Corporate Strategy and Operational Planning
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute the Division\'s annual Business Plan to ensure alignment with the Business Unit\'s strategic and financial priorities, and the corporate goals.
  • Recommend an optimum organization structure, manpower plan and budget for the Division and monitor them on a regular basis to ensure efficient and effective utilization of resources.
  • Contribute ideas which support an efficient and effective structure and resource allocation for the Division, to ensure smooth workflow of operational processes and optimal utilization of resources.
  • Provide input into the development of the Business Unit\'s policies and develop the Division\'s systems, processes and procedures, identifying potential areas of improvement to ensure efficient, effective, safe and risk-free operations as well as compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor, control and report Operational and financial Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the Division, to track performance and recommend corrective or mitigating actions.
  • Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, and meet the Division\'s requirements, policies and standards.

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related Science.
  • 12 years of relevant experience, out of which:
- - 4 years of experience in nuclear power plant engineering, in a supervisory or management role.

  • Shall have familiarity with:
  • Nuclear power operations, refueling outage (or initial fuel load) and Startup Testing.
  • Design control, configuration management and safety system operability requirements.

Preferred
Master\'s Degree in Engineering with extensive Equipment Reliability experience.
