Job/Position Summary The Officer manages the Clean Combustion Research Center’s (CCRC) engagements with extramural entities, including companies, research institutes, foundations, and government agencies. The position is to attract external funding and work either independently or collaboratively, as required by a given project. The Officer also coordinates workflows between CCRC and administrative units within KAUST, including the KAUST Innovation division and the Research Funding & Services dept. The Officer works either independently or collaboratively, as required by a given project or task. Major Responsibilities – include but are not limited to -  Serve as a liaison between CCRC faculty and KAUST Innovation units, including Industry Engagement Office (IEO) and Technology Transfer Office (TTO).  Assist Center-aligned faculty in developing and maintaining collaborations with external organizations, in activities including proposal development and negotiations; progress reporting; management of regular meetings and communication among collaboration stakeholders.  Act as Center lead to track and follow up on contract negotiations and award status with relevant KAUST divisions and departments, such as KAUST Innovation and Research Funding & Services Dept.  Work to attract companies to engage with CCRC.  Organize student internships and job placements for CCRC students.  Coordinate with units in KAUST Innovation Division to survey and analyze the range of research topics pursued by Center faculty in order to identify translational potential, including the development of commercial applications of their research.  Manage the development and implementation of strategies to disseminate research results to attract new, internal and external funding for Center-aligned faculty.  Assist in establishing strategic research facilities (pilot facilities / Start-ups) for the Center, aligned with external research funding.  Present research results through reports and the publication of scientific papers, conference presentations, and technology demonstrations where warranted and desired bringing visibility to the Center and KAUST.  Oversee development and maintenance of the Center website content as well as provide editorial input for Center related media, newsletter, events, workshops, forum in disseminating knowledge. Competencies  High energy, strong work ethic, a startup attitude and approach  Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills; skilled with information gathering, database management, and ability to prioritize tasks  Adept at interacting and building consensus among senior level executives  Capable of developing and maintaining senior stakeholder relationships internally and externally (customers and industry partners)  Sound business acumen and ability to build a compelling business case  Able to successfully prioritize and manage multiple complex projects in a fast-paced environment  Provide graduate level students and managers with career management skills  Develop an internal network of resources/advocates with key stakeholders required to assist with the sales process Qualifications  Bachelor’s degree required  Master of Business Administration or similar advanced degree preferred  Experience working in foreign countries and across cultures  6+ years in a consultative sales management or development role with a proven track record of success by consistently exceeding key performance metrics
