The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and managing the inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment. The role ensures accurate stock records and proper documentation to maintain the smooth and efficient operation of the store or warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and record all incoming materials and reconcile with purchase orders.
Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in the warehouse or store.
Issue materials and products as per the requisitions or authorized orders.
Maintain stock levels by conducting regular stock counts and reporting shortages or excesses.
Update inventory records using manual logs or computerized systems (ERP or inventory management software).
Communication with any area that will need suppliers. Never stop asking what will they need. Make sure operations will succeed.
Ensure cleanliness and safety of the storage area.
Label stock items and maintain proper identification for easy retrieval.
Assist in periodic audits and inventory reconciliations.
Dispose of damaged or obsolete items as per company policies.
Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and other departments for smooth operations.
