Role Summary

The Storekeeper is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the store/warehouse, ensuring proper receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory control of materials, supplies, and equipment. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to company policies to maintain smooth material flow and prevent shortages or excesses.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, supplies, and equipment against purchase orders and delivery notes. Organize and store items systematically to ensure safety, easy retrieval, and proper stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO). Maintain accurate records of goods received, issued, and returned in both manual registers and ERP/software systems. Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile with system records. Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and storage conditions of all materials. Monitor minimum stock levels and raise requisitions for replenishment in a timely manner. Issue materials to departments/projects based on authorized requisitions. Coordinate with procurement, finance, and other departments regarding stock requirements and discrepancies. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the store/warehouse. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports for management. Handle returns, damaged items, and obsolete stock as per company procedures.

Qualifications & Skills

High school diploma or bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or a related field (preferred). Proven experience as a Storekeeper, Inventory Controller, or similar role. Knowledge of inventory management practices and procedures. Proficiency in MS Office and inventory management software/ERP systems. Strong organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Physically fit to handle store operations (lifting, shifting, etc., as required)
