The Storekeeper is responsible for managing inventory, materials, tools, and equipment at construction sites or real estate development projects. This role ensures efficient storage, accurate record-keeping, and timely distribution of materials to support project timelines and minimize waste.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of construction materials and equipment
Maintain accurate stock levels and update inventory systems regularly
Conduct periodic stock audits and reconcile discrepancies
Storage & Organization
Ensure proper storage of materials to prevent damage or loss
Label and categorize items for easy identification and retrieval
Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the storage area
Material Issuance
Issue materials to site personnel based on approved requisitions
Track usage and returns of tools and equipment
Coordinate with procurement and site engineers for material needs
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports
Maintain records of stock movements, deliveries, and returns
Assist in preparing material forecasts and purchase requests
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to company policies and safety regulations
Report any damaged or expired materials
Support audits and inspections as required
Qualifications & Skills
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in logistics or inventory management is a plus
2+ years of experience in storekeeping, preferably in construction and real estate
Familiarity with construction materials, tools, and equipment
Proficiency in inventory software and MS Office
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to lift heavy items and work in outdoor environments
