To ensure proper receiving, storage, and issuance of all food, beverage, and non-food items. The Storekeeper maintains accurate stock records, ensures proper storage conditions, and supports cost control by preventing wastage, shortages, and overstocking.
Key Responsibilities1. Receiving & Inspection
Receive all incoming materials, verify against purchase orders (quantity, quality, expiry, condition).
Ensure items are accompanied by proper documentation (delivery note, invoice, purchase order).
Report any discrepancies or damages immediately to the Procurement or Finance Department.
Reject and record any unauthorized or poor-quality deliveries.
2. Storage & Inventory Control
Organize and store materials in an orderly and accessible manner.
Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) methods strictly.
Maintain hygiene and safety standards in storage areas (dry store, chiller, freezer).
Monitor temperature logs for cold storage and report deviations.
Label and categorize items properly for easy identification and tracking.
3. Issuance & Stock Distribution
Issue materials only upon approved requisition from authorized personnel.
Record all issues accurately in the system or manual log.
Coordinate with chefs and outlet managers for daily material requirements.
4. Record Keeping & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date stock cards and system entries (inventory management software).
Conduct daily/weekly stock counts and reconcile with system balances.
Prepare monthly inventory reports and variance analyses for management.
Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
5. Cost & Waste Control
Monitor stock levels to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
Track expiry dates to minimize wastage.
Identify slow-moving and obsolete items and report them to management.
6. Coordination & Compliance
Coordinate closely with the purchasing, finance, and kitchen departments.
Follow all food safety, HACCP, and company policies.
Ensure proper housekeeping and pest control measures are implemented in storage areas.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum
1-2 years' experience
as a Storekeeper preferably in a restaurant, catering, or hospitality environment.
Knowledge of
inventory management systems
is preferred.
Basic understanding of
food safety standards (HACCP)
.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to handle physical work and time-sensitive tasks.
Having a valid UAE Driving License
