The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Store, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role requires a combination of leadership, organizational skills, and knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS). The Store Manager will manage a team, implement processes to optimize operations, and ensure that safety protocols are followed.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
Supervise and lead a team of store staff, including store workers, forklift operators, and other support staff.
Inventory Management:
Ensure accurate inventory control, tracking, and reporting. Regularly conduct stock audits and ensure compliance with stock replenishment guidelines.
Order Fulfillment:
Oversee the picking, packing, and dispatching of orders, ensuring orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Health and Safety Compliance:
Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and store best practices, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
Training & Development:
Provide training for new and existing store staff on procedures, safety protocols, and system usage.
Logistics Coordination:
Collaborate with procurement, transportation, and distribution teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery of goods.
Store Maintenance:
Ensure that the store is clean, organized, and that all equipment (e.g., forklifts, shelving, racking) is properly maintained.
Process Improvement:
Identify areas for improvement in store operations and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize space utilization.
Reporting:
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, stock levels, and labor efficiency.
Budgeting & Cost Control:
Assist with managing store budgets and identify ways to reduce costs and improve profitability.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus.
Experience:
Proven experience in warehouse management or a related field (at least 5 years).
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
Familiarity with safety regulations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Oracle software.
