Job Title: Senior Store Keeper / Warehouse Supervisor (Supermarket)
Department: Operations / Inventory
Reports To: Store Manager / Operations Manager
Salary Range: AED 3,500 - 5,000 per month
Experience Required: Minimum 5 years in a supermarket, hypermarket, or FMCG retail environment.
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Store Keeper to oversee all warehouse and stockroom operations for our supermarket. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient receipt, storage, dispatch, and inventory control of a wide range of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG), including perishable and non-perishable items. You will play a key role in minimizing stock losses, optimizing space, and ensuring products are available for the sales floor.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate perpetual inventory records for thousands of SKUs. Conduct regular cycle counts and comprehensive physical stock takes.
  • Receiving & Inspection: Receive all incoming goods, verify quantities against purchase orders and delivery notes, and inspect for damage or quality issues (especially for perishables).
  • Storage & Organization: Strategically organize the warehouse to maximize space, ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles are followed, and maintain clear aisles for safety. Manage temperature-controlled storage for chilled and frozen goods.
  • Dispatch to Sales Floor: Coordinate timely replenishment of shelves based on stock levels, sales data, and requests from department managers.
  • Stock Rotation & Control: Proactively identify and manage slow-moving, expired, or damaged stock. Process write-offs and returns according to company policy.
  • Team Supervision: Potentially supervise assistant storekeepers or warehouse helpers, assigning tasks and ensuring safe work practices.
  • System & Reporting: Utilize inventory management software to record all movements. Generate daily/weekly reports on stock status, shortages, and variances.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the warehouse complies with all health, safety, and hygiene standards. Maintain a clean, pest-free, and safe working environment.
  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and delivery personnel for smooth inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Loss Prevention: Implement and monitor security measures to prevent theft and pilferage in the storage areas.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: High school diploma required; diploma in logistics or supply chain is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of proven storekeeping experience in a large supermarket or FMCG warehouse.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of inventory control principles, FIFO, and warehouse best practices. Knowledge of food safety standards (e.g., HACCP) is highly advantageous.
  • Physical Ability: Capable of lifting heavy items and working in a cold storage environment when required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (especially Excel).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills. Leadership and team management capabilities.
