Job Description

The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for supervising the stewarding team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in all kitchen and food & beverage back-of-house areas. The role ensures proper handling of equipment, adherence to safety and sanitation policies, and supports smooth kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate stewarding team members during shifts. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and storage areas. Monitor proper use and handling of chemicals and cleaning supplies. Control and maintain inventory of cleaning materials, kitchen utensils, and operating equipment. Assist in the training and development of stewarding colleagues. Maintain dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment in proper working condition. Enforce hygiene, health, and safety standards in compliance with HACCP and hotel policies. Organize garbage separation, disposal, and recycling according to environmental standards. Support kitchen and banquet operations by ensuring sufficient equipment availability. Prepare duty rosters and ensure adequate manpower coverage. Report and follow up on any maintenance issues. Ensure colleagues follow proper grooming and discipline standards.

Qualifications & Skills

Previous experience in stewarding, a supervisory role within the hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and HACCP standards. Ability to lead, motivate, and train a team. Good organizational and problem-solving skills. Basic knowledge of inventory and stock control. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills in English (additional languages are an advantage).

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift, push, and carry heavy items (up to 25kg).
