Key Duties & Responsibilities
Clean, wash, and sanitize all dishes, cutlery, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, following Al Hallab's standards.
Operate dishwashing machines, glass washers, pot washers etc., safely and efficiently.
Collect, sort, stack, and store cleaned items in the proper storage locations.
Maintain back?of?house cleanliness - countertops, floors, walls, drains, sinks, equipment, and storage areas.
Remove and dispose of garbage and food waste regularly and in accordance with food safety procedures.
Assist with receiving and storing deliveries of kitchen supplies and ingredients, ensuring proper storage practices and FIFO (first?in, first?out) rotation.
Keep working areas organized and stocked with necessary supplies (clean utensils, cleaning chemicals, paper towels, etc.).
Report any damaged or faulty equipment or safety hazards to the Stewarding Supervisor or Kitchen Manager.
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including for chemicals, PPE (personal protective equipment), and food handling.
Assist in setting up / closing down kitchen and service areas (e.g. washing down surfaces, sweeping/mopping floors, organizing utensils for next shift).
Cooperate and communicate with kitchen and service staff to ensure timely support during busy service times.
Requirements & Skills
Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards and able to follow them strictly.
Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry heavy pots/pans or trays (up to approx. 20?25 kg), and perform manual tasks.
Attention to detail (cleanliness, proper storage, correct cleaning methods).
Good team player; able to follow instructions and work under supervision.
Reliable, punctual, disciplined.
