Job Description

A Steel Fixer is responsible for cutting, bending, positioning, and securing steel bars or mesh to reinforce concrete structures such as foundations, walls, beams, and columns. The role requires interpreting construction drawings and ensuring all work complies with structural specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Read and interpret technical drawings and bar bending schedules (BBS). Cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using hand and power tools. Tie rebar securely in position using wire and appropriate tying tools. Place and fix reinforcement accurately within formwork before concrete pour. Maintain correct spacing and alignment as per engineering specifications. Use spacers and supports to hold reinforcement in place. Work with crane operators and other trades to position prefabricated steel. Inspect and repair any defective or misplaced steel before concrete placement. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Maintain a clean and organized worksite.
