Job Summary:

The Fabricator Welder - Team Leader is responsible for

supervising and leading a team of fabricators and welders

to ensure the efficient fabrication, assembly, and installation of metal structures, supports, frames, and piping components. The role combines

technical expertise in welding and fabrication

with

leadership, coordination, and quality control

responsibilities to meet project specifications and deadlines in compliance with

Qatar standards and safety regulations

.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate a team of fabricators and welders in workshop or site environments. Read and interpret

engineering drawings, isometrics, and fabrication sketches

to assign work accurately. Supervise

fabrication, fitting, cutting, and welding operations

for structural and piping works. Perform hands-on welding (SMAW, GTAW, MIG/MAG) and assist in complex fabrication tasks when required. Plan daily work schedules, allocate manpower, and ensure efficient workflow. Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, dimensions, and compliance with WPS and project standards. Conduct

fit-up inspections

before final welding and coordinate with QA/QC inspectors. Ensure that all fabrication activities are performed safely and efficiently. Coordinate material availability, tool requirements, and work permits for daily operations. Provide on-the-job training and technical guidance to junior welders and fabricators. Maintain accurate records of daily work progress, manpower utilization, and material usage. Liaise with supervisors, engineers, and site coordinators to resolve technical issues promptly. Enforce compliance with

QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment)

policies at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience:

Minimum

5-7 years

of fabrication and welding experience, including

2-3 years in a team leader/supervisory role

(preferably in Qatar or GCC).

Certifications:

Valid

Welder Qualification Certificate (WPS/WPQ)

for SMAW/GTAW/MIG processes. Basic supervisory training certification (preferred). Safety certifications:

PTW, H2S, Confined Space, Lifting Awareness

.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

fabrication and welding techniques

for structural and piping work. Ability to

interpret complex drawings

and guide others in fabrication details. Excellent

leadership, coordination, and problem-solving

skills. Hands-on experience with

carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy materials

. Familiarity with

ASME, AWS, and API welding standards

. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity. Ability to communicate effectively in English (Arabic/Hindi knowledge an advantage). Capable of managing work schedules, manpower, and quality under tight deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: QAR1,800.00 - QAR2,400.00 per month
