Mission of the role

In your role you will lead the establishment of Siemens Energy Ventures Regional Community. The vision is to build a community filled with leaders that want to bring energy to everyone everywhere while reversing climate change. This would open-up the power of Siemens Energy's 170-year heritage, know-how and network to help early-stage founders overcome real-world challenges as they scale & grow, while driving disruption & deep learning from startups for Siemens Energy (e.g. via regional Innovation Centers). As part of this role, you will liaise with the Venture Clienting team to pilot solutions from leading startups to solve real challenges for Siemens Energy business units.

Your focus will be to cultivate better interactions and discourse through thoughtful community architecture, active moderation, and management. You will work with the Global Community lead, other Regional Community builders, and the Siemens Energy Ventures team to build a regionally strong and globally connected community. You will build exciting new approaches, content, programs, and tools to facilitating value exchange that engages and retains community members. You will be expected to be bold in your thinking and daring in your experimentation, while bringing clarity and energy to the team, founders, and ecosystem partners.

Your profile

You have 3-5 years of full-time experience in community building & management, business, and technology

You have great passion for making a positive contribution to the world through energy innovation, entrepreneurialism, and startups

You are excited about new technologies and have the background to evaluate and understand new technology innovation and business models

You have a strong ability to design and negotiate partnerships that create mutual value and benefit

You have a "give-first" mindset and believe that the good we do will come back to us

You love to build strong relationships and work well without authority in global diverse teams

You can communicate your thoughts and ideas clearly, verbally and written, and be patient with stakeholders, customers, and partners

You have a creative flare for engaging community with content, programs, and events

You have an affinity for data, research, and experimentation

You pay attention to detail, deliver on-time, and have great organizational skills

You are comfortable working with all levels of organizations large and small

You understand basic accounting practices and can manage finances effectively

Your responsibilities

Build & Manage the Community

Experiment with organizing events and programs to build community value-exchange across members in region

Scale and program manage events and programs to increasing peer-to-peer engagement & retention

Create content and production for community programs (e.g. virtual community events) with partners

Define & maintain community engagement calendar (e.g. webinars, newsletters, speed dating, events, etc)

Manage community membership: onboarding, offboarding, support, and channel moderation (in platform)

Identify business problems that can be solved with startup solutions and scout relevant in the startup ecosystem

Assess, decide and manage startup pilots with clear business impact for Siemens Energy businesses together with key stakeholders in the business

Mentor and guide founders and internal colleagues on excellence in executing Venture Clienting pilots

Work with Venture Capital & Clienting teams to secure regional partnerships & leads for investments/pilots

Facilitate value exchange from your regional community with others (i.e. across global community)

Help drive ESG and D&I topics initiatives in the startup ecosystem

Manage Strategy & Stakeholders

Create a baseline study of the full market, identify who are the best partners for us, and close partnerships

Engage the startup network with the Innovation Center in your region, as part of the global community and manage stakeholder expectations (e.g. Innovation Center and Global Community)

Create and support knowledge sharing and matchmaking between the Innovation Centers, local Business Units, and Siemens Energy Ventures to inform strategy and create business opportunities

Measure how the regional ecosystem views and evaluate Siemens Energy in terms of startup partnerships
