: The Entertainment Stage Manager leads a team of Performers, Assistant Stage Managers, Entertainment Animators and Stagehands; supervises all rehearsals and on stage, and backstage activities. The Stage Manager works on the development of a vision for the long term operation of the shows, assists in the development of show calendar and participates in all planning related to rehearsal preparation and execution, department staffing, and stagehand and performer training. The Stage Manager works with the team as an active participant in achieving artistic goals, ensuring consistent quality, sharing knowledge with the team, leading with a positive attitude, guaranteeing a high level of performance maintenance and preserving highest production values for all parks productions. Job Scope:
Stage manages and assists with other activities in the parks, as advised by management
Manages cast, Assistant Manager and crew schedules
Supervises the creation, maintenance and accuracy of the production prompt script, running and/or cue sheets, and production check lists for management and archive purposes
Monitors and provides show notes to performers and crew in a constructive and positive manner to ensure show performance standards are met daily
Coordinates show production rehearsals and cleanup schedules as needed
Supervises team schedules and activities both internally and externally
Ensures show reports are accurate and published in a timely manner
Sets standards and practices for the stage management team
Delegates tasks and ensures goals are clearly communicated to the team
Works with technical team to make sure repairs are noted, logged, and completed in a timely manner
Prepares inspection reports when and if necessary
Provides training to technical team as needed with prior agreement with maintenance department managers
Attends all meetings as required
Maintains an organized and up-to-date center of communication, including weekly meetings with the show crews to share information, administrative tasks, and performance protocols with the team
Works with suppliers on bidding processes to purchase and maintain equipment for shows, when applicable
Holds regular briefings with the performers for show and department updates
Interviews potential new hire stagehands, stage management team, and performers as requested
Supports with audition of new team members as needed and requested by management
Tracks and reports any consumable/operational spending
Coordinates any inventory stock activity that is required in their area and ensures inventory is up to date
Assists the department as a whole with planning and execution of events and special activities as needed
Handles special projects, including events and new show productions, as requested by management
Additional duties as assigned by management
To be considered for the role, you will need to have: Job Essentials:
Higher secondary or equivalent
2 years of experience in stage management
Leadership skills
Stage management, including show book creation, prompt script, cue sheet, checklists, show calling, development and distribution of show reports, schedules
Computer skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Proficiency in English
Job Desirables:
Bachelors in the arts; specialization in stage management
4 years of experience in stage management and/or 3 years in the theme park industry and/or 2 years stage managing a long-term show run
Background on lighting, sound and projection programming
Ability to operate winches and rigging experience
Knowledge of video editing and music
Understanding of circus, acrobatics, dance, drama, singing, and physical comedy
