Staff Nurse - Oncology
A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse for its Oncology Department. Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients before and after procedures
- Accurately identify patients and respond to urgent or emergency situations appropriately
- Coordinate patient appointments, procedures, and treatments according to prescribed plans
- Monitor and follow up on patient diagnostic tests, coordinating with physicians to inform patients of results and required follow-ups
- Maintain well-stocked and clean consultation rooms before and after each patient visit
- Ensure proper patient education and discharge instructions are provided
- Conduct regular checks on crash carts, refrigeration temperature logs, and medical equipment maintenance schedules
- Assist physicians in addressing urgent care cases and ensure timely completion of all patient-related administrative tasks
- Communicate with patients regarding approvals for lab tests, imaging, and scheduling of procedures
- Collaborate with insurance coordinators to obtain necessary approvals for patient care services
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills in chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, and venous access procedures
- Foster a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and medical staff
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of two years of post-graduate nursing experience in an oncology setting
- Strong knowledge of chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, and venous access procedures
- Excellent patient assessment, care coordination, and prioritization skills
- Ability to provide age-appropriate care based on patient developmental needs
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is essential
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced healthcare environment
