Material & Surface Protection

Inspect incoming materials for compliance with

approved specifications and mill certificates

Monitor

surface preparation, blasting profiles, DFT measurements, and painting systems

Ensure coating applications meet

project and international standards

Coordination & Communication

Coordinate with

production, planning, procurement, and site teams

Attend

client, consultant, and internal quality meetings

Provide technical support to resolve quality-related issues during fabrication and erection

HSE & Continuous Improvement

Ensure quality activities comply with

QHSE requirements

Support

ISO audits

(ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) Promote continuous improvement and quality awareness across teams
Detailed

Quality Planning & Implementation

Develop, implement, and maintain

Project Quality Plans (PQP)

and

Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)

Ensure all fabrication and erection activities comply with

approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards

Review project specifications, standards, and contract requirements related to quality

Inspection & Monitoring

Conduct inspections for

cutting, fit-up, welding, blasting, painting, and erection

Raise and close

WIRs (Work Inspection Requests)

in coordination with clients/consultants Verify

MIRs (Material Inspection Requests)

and ensure material compliance and traceability Monitor welding activities in line with

approved WPS, PQR, and welder qualifications

Documentation & Records

Maintain quality documentation including

WIR, MIR, NCR, CAR, calibration records, and test reports

Prepare and submit

quality dossiers / handover documents

Ensure proper filing and tracking of quality records for audits and client submissions

Welding & NDT Coordination

Ensure welders are

qualified and certified

Coordinate and witness

NDT activities

(UT, RT, MT, PT) as per project requirements Review NDT reports and ensure compliance with acceptance criteria

Non-Conformance & Corrective Actions

Identify quality issues and raise

NCRs

Investigate root causes and implement

corrective and preventive actions

Follow up on rectification works and ensure proper closure of NCRs
Candidate Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in

Mechanical / Civil Engineering

4-8 years

experience in

steel structure fabrication and erection

Strong knowledge of

QA/QC procedures, ITPs, and quality documentation

Hands-on experience with

WIR, MIR, NCR, WPS, PQR, NDT

Familiar with

international standards

(AWS, ASTM, ISO, BS) Good communication and coordination skills UAE / GCC experience preferred
