Job Description

The Senior Project Engineer - HVAC is responsible for the complete execution of HVAC works for Greenfield, Retrofit, and Hospitality projects. This includes installation, testing, commissioning, supervision, documentation, coordination, and successful handover of all HVAC systems such as Chilled Water, VRF, DX, and Ventilation systems. The role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership, and project management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & Supervision

Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of HVAC systems (Chilled Water, VRF, DX, Ventilation Systems). Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, materials submittals, method statements, and work procedures. Ensure all works are executed in compliance with approved designs, project specifications, and industry standards. Monitor daily site activities and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth progress.

2. Retrofit & System Upgrade Works

Assess existing HVAC systems and propose technically sound retrofit and upgrade solutions. Coordinate shutdowns, replacements, and system modifications with minimal disruption. Conduct site surveys, evaluations, and prepare detailed technical reports on system condition and feasibility.

3. Coordination & Stakeholder Management

Coordinate with Civil, Electrical, Fire Fighting/Alarm, BMS, ELV, and LPG teams for seamless project execution. Attend technical, progress, and coordination meetings with Clients, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Suppliers. Liaise with UAE authorities (DM, Civil Defence, DEWA, SEWA, ADDC) for inspections, approvals, and compliance requirements.

4. Documentation & Reporting

Prepare and review Material Submittals, IRs, MIRs, RFIs, TQs, Method Statements, and Progress Reports. Track project schedules and ensure activities are planned and executed on time. Support the preparation of As-Built drawings, O&M manuals, and final handover documentation.

5. Quality, Safety & Compliance

Ensure all site activities adhere to QA/QC procedures and HSE standards. Conduct inspections, testing, flushing, air balancing, and performance verification. Ensure materials, equipment, and workmanship meet approved standards and project requirements.

6. Resource & Cost Management

Plan and manage manpower, materials, equipment, and tools effectively. Monitor productivity, resource utilization, and project variations to support cost control. Assist in preparing technical proposals, BOQs, and project planning inputs as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory). 8-10 years of experience in MEP contracting, preferably in the UAE/GCC, with exposure to Greenfield, Retrofit, and Hospitality projects. Strong technical expertise in HVAC project execution and supervision. Proficient in AutoCAD, knowledge/exposure to Primavera , Autodesk Revit , BIM shall be an added advantage. Good understanding of local authority regulations and inspection procedures (DM, DCD, DEWA, SEWA, ADDC). Excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and lead site teams effectively.
