Job summaryWork hard and make history with Amazon's International Public Policy and Government Affairs Team. The Senior Manager, Digital & Devices, will join a growing and dynamic team, that works across Europe, Middle East, Africa, India and Asia Pacific, in support of Amazon's global consumer retail business. Like our business interests, our policy issues are broad, forward-thinking, and driven by what is best for our customers. The International Public Policy team works with a wide range of national, local, and supranational policymakers, industry organizations, and non-governmental organizations across numerous policy issues spanning the consumer and commercial environment.The Senior Manager will be part of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Public Policy Team, and be able to immediately and directly enhance Amazon's advocacy on a broad range of digital and devices-related public policy issues throughout the region. The Senior Manager will research, define, execute, and manage key public policy issues. The Senior Manager will also develop Amazon positions on digital and devices policy issues, communicate with consultants and trade associations, and represent the company at meetings. The position is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a relevant field15+ years dealing with legislative and regulatory policy process, preferable within the technology industry.15+ years of experience in advocacy and using spoken and written arguments to persuade and inform.Native and fluent spoken and written Arabic.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Advanced degree in relevant field.Availability to travel, as appropriate.Strong writing skills.Strong knowledge of a wide variety of digital and devices policy issues, including privacy, consumer electronic devices, connectivity, telecommunications, satellites, cybersecurity, and/or AI.Experience within companies, consultancies, trade associations, government, or equivalent organizations.Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills demonstrated ability to effectively and comfortably interact at all corporate and political levels. Ability to create factual, relevant and easily understandable talking points and other messaging, and persuasively deliver it to relevant audiences.Maintain highest personal levels of ethical conduct and integrity.Self-starter who can take general direction and produce specific results.Ability to identify and understand key technical aspects pertaining to corporate operations in legislative and regulatory proposals, understand business implications, and synthe policy documents for internal and external customers.
