This role is strictly technical and production-driven, suited to a professional who understands how bespoke furniture and joinery are manufactured, not just designed. The ideal candidate will have spent a substantial part of their career working within a joinery production facility or furniture design/manufacturing firm, and can prepare fully coordinated, fabrication-ready drawings that can be executed without ambiguity on the shop floor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Joinery & Bespoke Furniture Detailing
Prepare highly detailed joinery and bespoke furniture shop drawings suitable for direct factory production.
Develop full drawing sets including:

--- Sectional details
--- Fixing methodologies
--- Hardware integration
--- Assembly sequences
Translate approved design intent into accurate, buildable, and cost-aware production documentation.
Production & Workshop Coordination
Work closely with factory managers, carpenters, CNC operators, and finishing teams to ensure drawings are practical and optimized for production.
Resolve technical issues related to:

--- Tolerances
--- Finishes
--- Installation constraints
Support value engineering while maintaining design integrity.
Technical Review & Standards
Review architectural and interior design drawings to ensure joinery interfaces are fully coordinated.
Ensure all drawings comply with:

Maintain consistent detailing standards across projects.
Site & Installation Support
Conduct site measurements and verification prior to production.
Support site teams during installation with clarification drawings, revisions, and technical guidance.
Attend coordination meetings with project managers, designers, and site engineers as required.
Documentation & Control
Maintain drawing registers, revision histories, and approval records.
Ensure timely issuance of drawings aligned with project schedules.
Coordinate closely with procurement teams for material and hardware specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 8+ years of experience as a Joinery Draftsman.
At least 5+ years of direct experience working within a furniture design firm or joinery production facility.
Proven experience producing production-level joinery and bespoke furniture drawings.
Strong exposure to high-end interior fit-out, custom furniture, and architectural joinery projects.
Certifications
Certification in AutoCAD Drafting or related CAD / technical drawing programs.
Training or certification in Furniture Design, Production Detailing, or Manufacturing Processes.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in:
