Primary purpose of job
The Technician Telecommunications Services role is to be a part of a team of technicians to conduct, manage, and
supervise implementation of new telecommunication services projects, operations, and preventive and corrective
maintenance of related telecommunication infrastructure for maintaining a 24X7 availability and delivery of
telecommunication related services across the corporation. The incumbent will also have direct first level role in support of
projects, operation, management and technical support of related systems.
Experience & Skills

• Technical hands-on knowledge and experience in implementation and operation of telecommunication infrastructure

related to following: Radio (UHF, VHF, TETRA), PAGA, CCTV, ACS, VSAT, Telephony, and Industrial Telecommunication
systems.

• Technical knowledge and understanding in IP Networking, IP Telephony and unified communication systems and

services.

• Plan and manage a well-qualified team of technicians working in highly specialized technical environment to provide,

maintain and support an efficient and reliable telecommunication infrastructure for specialized services throughout all
operational areas. This includes allocation of job responsibilities, scheduling workload and setting priorities.

• Installation, commissioning, and testing of related telecommunication systems directly or by supervising contractors based

on defined corporate standards, process and polices for delivery of resilient and stable state-of-the-art
ICT/telecommunications services and solutions.

• Provide technical support in review and assessment of project documentation, technical specification, statement of work

related to telecommunication infrastructure to ensure and maintain a QP wide homogeneous telecommunication
architecture and deployment of services.

• Conduct site surveys to provide technical reports to maintain high quality of all hardware installations performed by

internal and external contractors by ensuring compliance with established corporate standards, policies, procedures and
manuals.

• Plan and supervise execution and documentation of periodic preventative and corrective maintenance per defined

procedures of related Telecommunications infrastructure to avoid potential risks in loss of assets and interruption of
corporate ICT/telecommunication services.

• Maintain a 24x7 availability of services by providing first level of support to operational SDS requests, and incidents under

normal or emergency conditions to ensure non disruptive or minimum impact on corporate telecommunication services.

• Interact, collaborate with peers, new staff on development programs by publishing technical documentation, hosting

regular training or knowledge transfer sessions to update, and improve team technical knowledge and expertise aligned
with section goals to meet and maintain division telecommunication infrastructure operational requirements.

• Secure ICT telecommunication infrastructure assets and records by application of established division controls and

guidelines to preserve section infrastructure investments and ensure to maintain a safe, highly available 24x7
telecommunication network environment for business and critical industrial grade services.

• Monitor, and apply division processes in support of operation, escalation, and resolution of assigned related incidents

reported by Service Helpdesk, and Operations Centre by leveraging sophisticated tools and applications to resolve
incidents in a timely manner and ensure a robust and non-disruptive delivery of ICT/telecommunication services.
Education
A minimum of Technical Diploma and 8 years of technical experience in the field of telecommunications and preferably
related to Oil and Gas industry.
