Sr. Geophysicist
Job Description
Primary Purpose of the Job:
Plan, supervise, coordinate, and control the collection, analysis, and evaluation of geophysical data for well and reservoir studies to generate effective field development plans. Provide geophysical support for QatarEnergy oil fields, conduct reservoir management activities, and participate in interdisciplinary reservoir study teams. Mentor and develop less experienced staff while reviewing technical work performed by geophysicists.
Required Experience and Skills:
15+ years in Oil & Gas industry, with at least 10 years in geophysical studies or operations.
Expertise in carbonate reservoirs and integrated asset team environments.
Strong knowledge of stratigraphy, structural geology, and economic aspects of projects.
Proficiency in seismic and VSP acquisition and processing and geophysical software applications.
Familiarity with statistical and pattern recognition techniques (Neural networks, fuzzy logic, multivariate analysis).
Software: OpenWorks / R5000, Petrel.
Educational Qualifications:
Minimum BSc in Geophysics or Geology.
