Core responsibilities

Financial reporting:

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

General ledger management:

Oversee the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and verify bank statements to ensure accuracy.

Month-end and year-end close:

Lead and support the processes for closing the books at the end of each accounting period.

Compliance and audits:

Ensure compliance with accounting principles (like GAAP) and tax regulations. Assist with both internal and external audits.

Analysis and forecasting:

Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.

Staff supervision:

Train, mentor, and supervise junior accounting staff, and review their work.

Process improvement:

Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

Financial support:

Provide financial reports and insights to management to aid in strategic decision-making.
Qualifications and skills

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is typically required. Professional certifications like CPA are often preferred. Proven experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
