Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Spray Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preparing surfaces and applying various types of paint, coatings, and finishes using spray equipment. The Spray Painter will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality, professional finish on all projects while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation:

Inspect and prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, degreasing, and masking. Fill cracks, dents, and imperfections using appropriate fillers and primers to create a smooth, even surface. Apply masking tape and other protective materials to non-paintable areas.

Paint Application:

Select and mix paints, stains, and other coatings to achieve the desired color, consistency, and finish. Operate and maintain a variety of spray painting equipment, including airless sprayers, HVLP guns, and conventional spray guns. Apply multiple coats of paint, ensuring uniform thickness and a flawless finish, free from runs, drips, or overspray. Adjust spray gun settings and techniques based on the type of material and surface being painted.

Quality Control & Maintenance:

Conduct thorough quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards and client specifications. Touch up or re-paint areas as needed to correct imperfections. Clean and maintain all spray guns, equipment, and tools to ensure their longevity and proper function. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper disposal of hazardous materials.

Safety & Compliance:

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and safety glasses. Handle and store chemicals and paints according to safety regulations. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to a supervisor immediately.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Proven experience as a spray painter in a professional setting (e.g., automotive, industrial, furniture, or architectural painting). A strong portfolio of past work is highly desirable.

Skills:

Excellent knowledge of spray painting techniques, equipment, and materials. Proficiency in color matching and mixing. Strong attention to detail and a steady hand. Ability to read and interpret work orders and technical instructions. Physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions.

Personal Attributes:

Reliable and punctual. A strong work ethic and a commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent. Vocational training or certification in painting, autobody, or a related field is a plus.
