Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare wood and MDF surfaces for painting by sanding, filling, priming, and cleaning. Mix and match paint according to required color shades and material specifications. Apply paints, sealers, primers, lacquers, and topcoats using HVLP or airless spray guns. Maintain a clean and organized spray booth and ensure all safety precautions are followed. Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and finish defects (e.g., runs, orange peel, pinholes). Carry out minor touch-ups and corrections where necessary. Follow job orders, drawings, and color samples as per production requirements. Maintain and clean spray equipment regularly to avoid blockages and ensure longevity. Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the safe handling of hazardous materials. Assist with other workshop duties as needed, including staining, polishing, or manual painting.

Qualifications and Skills:

Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a spray painter in a wood or furniture industry. Knowledge of wood finishing processes and surface preparation techniques. Skilled in using different types of spray guns (HVLP, conventional, airless). Good understanding of color mixing, tinting, and finishing techniques. Attention to detail and ability to achieve smooth, even coatings. Familiarity with safety practices, PPE, and proper ventilation requirements. Ability to read and follow technical drawings or finish samples.
