Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Spray Painter with a strong background in finishing MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) and veneer surfaces. The ideal candidate will have expertise in using spray equipment to apply paint, lacquer, varnish, or stains, ensuring a high-quality, smooth finish on custom woodwork and cabinetry. This role requires attention to detail, technical skill, and the ability to work with a variety of finishing materials and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare MDF and veneer surfaces for spraying by sanding, cleaning, and applying primers or sealers. Mix and apply finishes such as paint, lacquer, polyurethane, and stains using HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) or air-assisted spray guns. Match and mix colors or finishes according to specifications or samples. Maintain consistent finish quality, ensuring uniform application and appearance. Perform touch-ups and refinishing work as needed. Inspect finished surfaces for defects and correct any issues before final delivery. Maintain spray booth and equipment in clean and operational condition. Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) at all times. Collaborate with production and carpentry teams to meet project deadlines and quality standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

Proven experience in spray painting, particularly with MDF and veneer materials. Familiarity with various finishing products including water-based and solvent-based finishes. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or finish specifications. Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Physical ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods. Knowledge of health and safety practices in a spray painting environment.

Preferred:

Experience in a joinery, cabinetry, or furniture manufacturing environment.
