The Duties and Responsibilities:

Observing and evaluating patients to determine the nature and extent of their disorder
Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties.
Develop and implement effective treatment programs.
Prepare engaging exercises and activities to use during speech sessions with patients
Helping patients establish goals and advising on treatment options
Planning and conducting programs to correct speech disorders
Administering therapy for rehabilitation of patients with communication problems caused by disabilities or hearing loss
Consulting with teachers, parents or medical practitioners

Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, therapist & BCBA to design effective treatment plans.
Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.
Producing proper documentation to support the practice.
To participate and positively contribute to clinical and operational meetings.
Communicating in an effective manner within the team.
Assisting team in the eventual screenings attended in the local schools.
Organize and participate with the flexibility to new projects, ideas and events the team is involved in.
