Job Description

Roles and responsibilities shall include but not limited to: Clinical Responsibilities: a. Independently provide a comprehensive assessment/examination, interpret results and provide Speech and language therapy treatment plan for individual patients. b. Performs diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluates communication and swallowing functions of patients. c. Provides observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine the need for other services d. Interprets and reports test results to facilitate medical diagnosis e. Determines therapeutic plan, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention and duration of therapy. f. Selects appropriate assistive speech devices to improve patient's communication g. Provides counseling and education about communication and diagnosis to patients and their families h. Maintains speech pathology equipment and materials i. Manage an individual caseload of patients effectively and efficiently. j. Maintain patient documentation, records and accurate statistical information to reflect care provided and meet professional standards. To be able to summarize care provided and prepare discharge reports. k. Communicate and make recommendations to all relevant disciplines of staff to ensure effective delivery of care and promote multidisciplinary team working. l. Ensure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing and instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs, recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs. m. Designate suitable cases according to experience to reporting staff n. Liase with medical insurance department, to follow up with physiotherapy insurance approvals and provide appropriate documentation to ensure prompt approval of referred cases. o. Work independently to provide on-call care to support delivery of the service to acutely ill patients. p. To supervise junior staff if required. q. Liase with other healthcare practioners. r. To maintain knowledge and skills according to current practice and literature. s. Provide consultation within their expertise and determine when patients/clients need to be referred to another healthcare professional. Administrative Responsibilities: a. Participate in the departmental Personal Development and Performance Review system to promote personal and service developments. b. Delegate appropriate tasks and supervise report staff and technicians to maximize efficiency and achieve desired quality of care. c. Perform patient triaging as per priority of needs and requirements of health insurance. d. Respond to insurance related queries pertaining to any patient. e. Participation in the organization's quality improvement and safety activities f. Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying policies, rules, and regulations. g. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Educational Responsibilities: a. Develop and update clinical knowledge and skills to ensure delivery of evidence-based care. b. Support Speech Therapy in-service to promote personal development and occasionally lead in-services. c. Should be flexible to work with all the department as per operational requirements. OSH Responsibilities: While at work, (and while on work premises) an employee shall: a. Take reasonable care of their own safety and health. b. Take reasonable care of the safety and health of person that may affected by their acts or omissions at work. c. Co-operate with their employer with respect to any instructions and/or actions taken by the employer to protect and/or comply with OSH requirements d. Report to their immediate supervisor any situation which they have reason to believe could present a hazard and which they cannot themselves correct. e. Report all OSH incidents and work-related injuries; and f. Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided at the workplace in the interest of health, safety, or welfare. g. Comply with the established OSHMS procedures of which they have been informed, instructed, and trained. h. Actively participate along with line management towards implementation of OSHMS requirements. Quality Responsibilities a. Abides by regulatory and accreditation requirements. b. Attends committee and management meetings as appropriate c. Awareness and compliance to all policies and procedures regarding department operations, fire, safety, and infection control d. Accountable for reporting any untoward incidents in the Oxygen Rehabilitation Center to Quality department through Occurrence Variance reporting. e. Responsible to assist in assessing Oxygen Rehabilitation Center Risks that may lead to untoward incidents. f. Responsible to report the Monthly key performance Indicators and Jawda KPI's to Quality department if nominated for the same. Job Type: Full-time COVID-19 considerations:

Experience:
  • Rehabilitation center: 4 years (Required)
Language:
  • Arabic (Preferred)
  • English (Required)
License/Certification:
  • HAAD/DOH License (Required)
