Specification Writer (Specifier)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Specification Writer to join our architectural team. This role involves reviewing design documents, interpreting project requirements, and creating precise and accurate architectural specifications that align with industry standards. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of construction materials, methods, codes, and technologies and can translate complex design concepts into comprehensive written documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Review architectural drawings, sketches, and design documents to develop and edit clear, concise specifications. Translate design intent into written specifications detailing materials, systems, installation methods, testing procedures, and quality standards. Collaborate with Project Managers and Design Leads to ensure specifications align with project goals, budgets, and timelines. Stay up to date with current building codes, authority regulations, material innovations, and construction technologies to maintain relevance and accuracy in documentation. Provide timely progress updates and reports to Design and Project Management teams. Maintain well-organized records of all specification drafts, revisions, and approvals for each project. Support keynoting processes and integrate technical product data, ensuring consistency across documents. Research and recommend new materials, systems, and products that enhance project design and sustainability goals. Ensure that specifications are coordinated with drawings and other contract documents to minimize inconsistencies.

Qualifications:

Degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years within the UAE. Proven experience in architectural specification writing or technical documentation. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment & Strong organizational and documentation skills.
