Title: Specialist Quality Engineer Responsible for quality standards of receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with contract requirements. Ensures process compliance with contract requirements and specifications through tests, inspections, audits and validations for design, engineering, products, equipment, maintenance and services. Directs the analyses/audits of work performed against a specific process. Provides support in the operations of the organization's total quality management (TQM) program. Develops systematic approaches for assuring high quality services and products that meet customer needs. Makes recommendations on changes to the program for assuring high quality services and products. Performs the functions of a supervisor in providing technical, administrative, budgetary, promotional, and career guidance to subordinates. May have supervisory duties to include: Responsible for overseeing the daily work operations and providing supervision to a unit or work-group. Participates in the establishment of unit objectives, work plans, schedules, and ensures resources are available for completion of assignments. Assists in other administrative tasks such as preparing budgets. Supervises daily activities of subordinates to ensure assigned tasks are completed in accordance with time and budget constraints. Provides technical direction/guidance to staff as required. May perform higher level tasks associated with an individual contributor role. Resolve technical and/or operations issues to ensure established schedules are met. Evaluates and recommends changes in work methods and procedures in assigned area. BA/BS degree in a technical discipline (i.e., engineering, computer science, quality assurance) with 8 years of experience. In lieu of formal education, at least 16 years of progressive experience in a related field.
