Job Description
GIS specialists use computer software and systems to collect, manage, analyze, model, and present geographic or spatial data. They use various data sources such as economic, demographic, political, environmental and aerial or satellite imagery data in order to do so. GIS specialists consult with clients to identify the needs of their project and determine the necessary applications. They conduct research and locate any existing databases that may help with the project. They gather and analyse data and determine how best to display it using GIS software. A GIS specialist creates geographic maps containing political borders, transportation networks and environmental resources by using computer software programs. Requirements
- Bachelor\'s degree in geographic information systems, cartography, computer science, or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience as GIS Specialist
- GIS certification a plus
- Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software products
- Experience scripting in Python
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
