JOB PURPOSE:

Provide advisory support to Consumer Banking Group (CBG) Business units on Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) matters in liaison with VP Compliance & Audit Advisory - CBG Business Governance and with Compliance and Business through obtaining mandatory or specific required information to address/ resolve such matters.

Act as a liaison between CBG Business units and Group Internal Audit (GIA) to ensure that all outstanding audit comments are properly addressed and closed by the respective Businesses in a timely manner.

Support VP Compliance & Audit Advisory - CBG Business Governance on any CBG related requests received from applicable regulators; the Central Bank of the UAE (CB UAE) and UAE Securities & Commodities Authority (SCA).

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Advisory
  • Provide support to VP Compliance & Audit Advisory - CBG Business Governance on regulatory and financial crime compliance matters pertaining to CBG Business units and ensure that gap analysis related to new regulations and requirements is being carried out by the Business in coordination with Business Compliance and Group Compliance as needed.
  • Ensure Business implement the Group Compliance Policies, Procedures and Process Notes.
  • Provide guidance and support for the CBG Business units to properly conduct gap analysis on all relevant departmental Processes, and Standard Operating Procedures against Group Policies & Procedures.
  • Provide assistance in reviewing and ensuring the Business implementation of Compliance Projects such as FATCA & CRS, RRA, Checklist, Remediation, System related, and others as guided by Business Compliance and Regulatory Compliance.
Audit
  • Receive from Group Internal Audit (GIA) updated lists of outstanding CBG Audit issues on a monthly basis via VP Compliance & Audit Advisory - CBG Business Governance.
  • Request from GIA updated lists of closed/ extended CBG Audit issues as and when needed via VP Compliance & Audit Advisory - CBG Business Governance.
  • Update the CBG Businesses in relation to open/ closed/ extended /overdue Audit issues pertaining to their respective Business units.
  • Guide the CBG Businesses on the actions required from their end to bring the outstanding Audit issues to closure / extension.
  • Conduct regular and ongoing meetings with Businesses to assess progress with closing / extending outstanding Audit issues and agree corrective course of action.
  • Support the Businesses in getting their related Audit items closed after concluding that the closure of the items in question is supported by enough evidence.
  • Provide guidance to CBG Businesses on populating and submitting RFAs in order to obtain extensions for Audit items Businesses is unable to close by the agreed deadlines.
  • Conduct regular meetings with Audit along with Business units to discuss pending issues and other Audit related matters.
  • Prepare monthly dashboards in order to update management on Audit issues and other related matters.
  • Remain aware of planned Audits of CBG Business units and take part in the opening and closing meetings when deemed necessary.
Focal Point (Regulatory Requests)
  • Receive regulatory requests applicable to the CBG Business form Group Compliance (GC); from the Regulatory Compliance unit within GC via VP Compliance & Audit Advisory - CBG Business Governance.
  • Provide assistance to CBG Business and support functions to obtain the necessary data and documentation required to fulfil regulatory requests within defined deadlines.
Be part of meetings / conference calls with the applicable Regulators on current requests as needed in coordination with Regulatory Compliance as advised by VP Compliance & Audit Advisory - CBG Business Governance.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification
  • Bachelor\'s Degree or Higher in Management, Banking or Finance, preferably with certification in Compliance, Corporate governance, Risk management or internal audit.
Minimum Experience
  • At least 5 to 8 years of business experience in a reputed bank.
  • At least 5 years technical experience across various aspects of Regulatory and Financial Crime Compliance (e.g. local and international requirements, FATCA, CRS, GDPR, AML, KYC, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years of advisory experience in PB. Experience in carrying out due diligence on customers and third parties is preferred.
