Job Description

  • Preferably a graduate of Bachelor's Degree in IT or Management with PMI Certification.
  • Should have at least 3 to 6 years of work experience for UAE Nationals and 5 to 8 years of work experience for Non-UAE Nationals.
  • Experience in project management in an Abu Dhabi Government entity.
  • Experience with IT and technology projects.
Project planning
  • Log special projects in the PMO project management system.
  • Ensure that project details (e.g., owner, manager, personnel) are entered into the system.
  • Project initiation: ensure that project owner and managers complete the required initiation documents, including where necessary business cases, and that the required approvals are obtained before moving to the next project phase. Provide support and coordination for project owners and managers.
  • Project planning: check project plans and charters (depending on the size of the project) for compliance with defined quality requirements, confirm approvals.
  • Challenge project plans to ensure that project owners and managers have adequately considered all applicable risks, issues and resource requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments for special / strategic projects.
Project execution
  • Conduct meetings with project stakeholders to ensure that project plans are implemented.
  • Lead project team meetings, capturing project risks, issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate escalation of project-related issues, where necessary.
  • Monitor the work of contractors and suppliers.
Project monitoring and control
  • Project monitoring and control: receive regular updates from project owners and managers on project status, including cost, scope, deliverables, stakeholders and other items.
  • Prepare tracking reports for project status updates; update project risk registers with project owners and raise concerns, flagging issues and changes in risk levels.
  • Review variation requests and change orders.
Project close-out
  • Ensure that all projects are closed out formally, including approvals of handovers and required completion certificates.
Portfolio management
  • Monitor project portfolio status; report on potential duplication or opportunities for efficiency.
Administration
  • Report Section KPI achievement, progress and other matters.
  • Prepare scopes of work for consultants and suppliers.
  • Participate in cross-functional groups, as required.
  • Evaluate technical bids from suppliers.
Other
  • Execute tasks, as instructed.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, Example but not limited to HSE policy & procedures.
  • Maintain own knowledge and develop expertise in project management and related fields.
