About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Sous Chef Artist to join our Pastry Kitchen in Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:
  • Responsible for creating and supplying Showpieces from Ice, Vegetable, Clay, Fruits, etc.
  • Coordinates activities of Kitchen to ensure and provide the highest quality of display of Fruits, Bread and Buffet garnish.
  • Imagination for creating Buffet Plan for Theme Nights, Banquets and Restaurants.
  • Follows the established procedures and performs special duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Handles machines, furniture, equipment and utensils using correct hygiene standards
  • Report and inform duty timings to immediate Supervisor and maintain the colleague duty roster at all times.
  • Attends daily briefings and Staff Meetings and makes suggestion for improvement,
  • To participate in any scheduled training or development programs that may improve personal or departmental standards
  • Coordinates with Supervisor and orders all materials needed to perform tasks
  • Organizing storage of Showpieces and equipment as per Health and Safety regulations
  • To perform any additional duties and responsibilities given to him by the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chefs or Chef de Cuisines
  • To respond to change in the departmental function as dictated by the industry
  • We always answer the telephone in person

  • Must be able to perform any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the management.
About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • 2-3 years experience in similar position.
  • Culinary Certificate or Equivalent is required
  • Certificate in Basic workplace Hygiene
