Job Summary:
Roots Supply Solution is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Sourcing Engineer to play a critical role in our procurement and supply chain operations. The Sourcing Engineer will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the cost-effective and timely procurement of materials, components, and services. This role requires a strong technical understanding, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with the company's overall objectives and operational needs.
Identify and qualify potential suppliers through research, market analysis, and industry networking.
Evaluate supplier capabilities, technical expertise, financial stability, and quality systems.
Lead the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, analyze bids, and conduct thorough cost comparisons.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, quality, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to understand technical requirements and ensure supplier alignment.
Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and address any issues or discrepancies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain to optimize cost, quality, and delivery.
Stay abreast of market trends, technological advancements, and industry best practices in sourcing and procurement.
Maintain accurate records of sourcing activities, contracts, and supplier performance.
Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product development and value engineering projects.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) is required.
1-2 years of experience in sourcing or procurement preferably within an oil field supplies , industrial products trading firm will be an advantage.
Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and achieving cost savings.
Strong technical aptitude and the ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and supplier auditing processes is a plus.
Familiarity with global sourcing and international trade regulations is an advantage.
