Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:
Recommend and pour wines, pairing them with the menu based on guest preferences and budget.
Wine List Management:
Curate, update, and maintain a diverse and profitable wine list.
Inventory & Purchasing:
Oversee wine inventory, manage cellar storage, and negotiate with vendors.
Staff Training:
Educate service staff on wine knowledge, pairing suggestions, and service techniques.
Compliance:
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including age verification.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Sommelier or in a similar role within a high-end restaurant or luxury hospitality setting.
Deep knowledge of different wine regions, grape varieties, and vintages.
Certification from recognized bodies is highly desirable.
Strong sales skills and the ability to engage with guests.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
