About the role: As an Engineering Manager at Bayzat, your role will be to coach and mentor teams of world-class engineers who are hungry, ambitious, and who are most certainly not afraid to constantly speak up and challenge your assumptions. This role will work closely with our PM and Engineering teams who share one mission: to make world-class employee experiences accessible to every company. Top incumbents will be insanely curious and hungry critical thinkers with a real passion for leading cross-functional teams. In this role, you will be making a direct impact on the entire Employee Experience space in the region and eventually changing the lives of millions of employees. You will be entrusted with building, coaching, developing, and championing an engineering team... in a remote environment. The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator who understands cross-cultural differences and nuances, with an undying itch for constant self-development. Some high-impact responsibilities you will be entrusted with: . Hiring and building out engineering teams for existing and new squads across Bayzat's technology organization. . Staying close to the product, CS, and in some instances, our key customers, to drive solutions for complex problems. . Constantly finding opportunities to enhance engineering workflows and development lifecycles. . Running high-level experiments and working closely with OKR tribes and non-engineering leadership teams. . Coaching, mentoring, and onboarding new team members. . Ensuring constant succession planning, career development, and engagement initiatives are taking place within your teams. . Continuously driving alignment and collaboration between tech and non-tech orgs throughout the organization. What you will need to have: . Extensive experience in cross-functional engineering leadership. . Over 5 years of development experience (an early career in frontend development is highly desirable). . Experience in growing an engineering team from early stages/rounds (seed/series A) to later rounds, is highly desirable. . Experience working within a product-led company that places value on coaching and servant leadership. . A goal-oriented person, preferably with experience in working with, and driving OKRs (or other management frameworks). . A critical thinker who can break complex problems into their simplest components. . An excellent communicator with infectious energy, and a flare for motivating others. . Previous experience working in cross-functional teams that balance product and engineering needs. Nice to haves: . Experience in modern FE application frameworks (React, Vuejs, Next, etc.) . Leading/working within remote environments. . Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, memory management, performance considerations and trade-offs . HTML5 - Familiar with HTML5 APIs and browser compatibility . CSS3 - Good knowledge of CSS pre-processors like SAAS/LESS . AJAX, REST, CLI tools, template engines, Node.js, Lodash.js and usability testing
