JOB DESCRIPTION BASIC INFORMATION Position Title English Arabic Software Architect – Integration Services Reporting To Lead Solution Architect Job Code Grade Civil 4-13 Sector Department Smart Services Enablement Section N/A Unit N/A JOB PURPOSE The role holder is responsible for defining software architecture in line with overall solution architecture and specific business and technical requirements to support the integration requirements. The role holder will translate business requirements into technical solutions, support the Section Head to assess architecture options to meet business need, and collaborate with Software Engineers to develop solutions according to the desired architecture. The role holder will work closely with the Lead Solution Architect to adopt and feed back on the overall Smart Services Enablement solution architecture. The role holder will liaise with customers and Smart Dubai experts and policy owners (e.g. Information Security) as appropriate. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES Strategic Planning Job Specific Accountability Create detailed software architectures that reflect business need, manage risk, are futureproofed, are efficient and cost-effective (e.g. buy vs. build, considering long-term support and maintenance costs), are robust and resilient, are secure, and reflect agreed strategy, policies and standards. Support the Section Head to define the product roadmap by advising on software architecture options and implications. Liaise with the Information Security Department to ensure the software architecture complies with data and system security standards. Collaborate with the Section Head and Software Engineers throughout definition, development, coding, testing and implementation to ensure the architecture is fit for purpose and remains compliant with the overall solution architecture and appropriate policies and standards. Prepare test cases and scripts to ensure software meets business needs Monitor the effectiveness of the software architecture during system development and post implementation, using learnings to improve future delivery Participate in the evaluation and solution acquisition process to ensure fit with overall solution architecture Budgeting Understand capex and opex budgetary requirements and feed into architecture considerations Support decision-makers and Section Head / Product Managers to understand budgetary implications of design choices Internal Projects Support internal projects to comply with the overall solution architecture People Management Reporting Policies, Processes & Procedures Oversee compliance with solution architecture policies, procedures, controls, standards and methodologies related in all developments related to integrations MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent Professional Certifications Professional certification in Software Architecture preferred Professional certification in emerging technologies, cloud computing, and/or other technologies deployed by Smart Services Enablement preferred Years of Experience 6 years of relevant experience in product / project management Nature of Experience Job Specific Skills Strong system architecture definition skills Stakeholder management and communication Knowledge and experience in SOAP Web Services and REST APIs Lifecycle Management. Knowledge and experience working with Web Services standards and tools SOAP, WSDL, WS-*, SOAPUI etc. Basic knowledge with integration services and APIs Security. WS-Security, OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT. Software Description SAG API Portal SAG API Gateway – Standard SAG API Gateway – Advanced SAG Integration Server SAG Universal Messaging Centra Site Terracota Server Array Command Central SAG – Version 10.5 and above Build and deploy APIs on API Gateway Build and deploy flow services in IS Publish APIs to API Portal Develop and build usecase on Universal Messaging WebMethods Service/server log Monitoring and analysis Users/Groups Creation, Access Management (Privileges and Permissions). Monitoring jobs/scripts using webMethods Command Line Utilities.. Analyzing thread dumps and finding root causes of server crashes. Troubleshooting Reverse Invoke, JDBC adapters, APIs, flow services, file polling etc Participate in RCAs and reviews Must be proficient and have extensive experience in webMethods Technologies. L2/L3 support for any incident reported Perform change management tasks – Releases Ability to tune performance by optimizing the configurations. Has experience working with Linux operating system.
