Social Media Coordinator - Water Treatment & Recycling Company
Position Overview
The Social Media Coordinator will support the company's mission of advancing clean water, sustainable treatment, and recycling solutions by managing and growing our online presence. This role ensures that our digital communication reflects our values of environmental stewardship, innovation, and technical excellence. The ideal candidate is a creative storyteller with a strong interest in sustainability, water technology, and community education.
Develop and publish engaging content highlighting water treatment processes, recycling solutions, environmental initiatives, and company achievements.
Create graphics, educational posts, infographics, short videos, and project highlights tailored for platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, TikTok, and YouTube.
Maintain an organized posting calendar, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels.
Support development of technical content by collaborating with engineers, project managers, and field teams.
Industry-Focused Storytelling
Translate technical information (water purification, wastewater recycling, sustainability metrics) into easy-to-understand, audience-friendly content.
Showcase project milestones, equipment installations, facility tours, and safety initiatives.
Highlight company participation in environmental events, trade shows, and community outreach programs.
Community Engagement
Engage with customers, industry partners, and environmental organizations by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries.
Monitor discussions related to water quality, environmental regulation, and green technology.
Foster online relationships to strengthen brand credibility within the water and sustainability sector.
Analytics & Reporting
Track social media performance using platform analytics.
Prepare monthly reports summarizing growth, engagement, and campaign results.
Recommend improvements and identify content trends relevant to environmental technology and sustainability.
Brand & Reputation Management
Ensure all digital content aligns with environmental compliance standards and company values.
Monitor relevant news, regulations, and trends in water treatment, recycling, and ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance).
Support PR efforts for product launches, community projects, or crisis communication when needed.
General Support
Assist with website updates, email campaigns, and digital marketing initiatives.
Coordinate photography and videography at plants, customer sites, or community events.
Maintain a digital library of project images, videos, and marketing assets.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred).
1-3 years of social media or digital marketing experience (industry experience is a plus).
Strong writing and storytelling skills, especially in turning technical topics into accessible content.
Familiarity with sustainability, water treatment, or environmental services (preferred but trainable).
Proficiency with social media management tools (Hootsuite, Later, Sprout, Buffer, etc.).
Ability to create basic visual content using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
