Job Description
Valid Driver's License: The driver must hold the appropriate class of CDL for heavy-duty vehicles, complying with local regulations. Experience: Proven experience driving heavy-duty trucks or similar vehicles, ideally with a minimum 5 years' experience. Clean Driving Record: A history free from major traffic violations, accidents, or DUI offenses is crucial for safety and insurance purposes. Physical Fitness: The driver should meet health standards, including passing medical exams and drug/alcohol screenings, to handle the physical demands of the job. Knowledge of Vehicle Maintenance:Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics to perform pre-trip inspections and identify potential issues. Safety Awareness: Commitment to following safety regulations, including hours of service, load securing, and defensive driving techniques. Reliability and Punctuality: Dependability in terms of attendance, timeliness, and ability to meet delivery schedules. Good Communication Skills: Ability to coordinate with dispatch, report issues promptly, and maintain professional interactions. Ability to Handle Stress and Long Hours: Comfortable with long-distance driving, sometimes under challenging conditions, while maintaining focus.
