Transportation Site Foreman - Roles & Responsibilities
1. Supervision & Coordination
Oversee daily transportation operations at the site, ensuring smooth movement of vehicles, equipment, and personnel.
Assign duties and schedules to drivers, operators, and helpers based on operational needs.
Monitor the attendance, discipline, and performance of transportation staff.
Ensure proper utilization of vehicles and equipment to minimize downtime.
2. Vehicle & Equipment Management
Ensure all company vehicles, machinery, and equipment are inspected daily before use.
Report any defects, damages, or breakdowns immediately to the workshop/maintenance team.
Monitor fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle logbooks to prevent misuse.
Ensure vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and compliant with legal and company requirements.
3. Safety & Compliance
Enforce company safety policies and road traffic regulations at all times.
Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings for drivers and helpers.
Ensure drivers have valid licenses and comply with defensive driving practices.
Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, and report findings to management.
4. Operations & Logistics
Plan and organize daily transportation schedules for staff, materials, and equipment.
Coordinate with project/site engineers to meet transportation requirements on time.
Monitor loading/unloading activities to prevent damages and ensure safe handling.
Maintain proper documentation for trip schedules, delivery notes, and transport permits.
5. Reporting & Documentation
Keep accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance schedules, and breakdown reports.
Submit daily/weekly reports on transportation activities to the Transport/Operations Manager.
Ensure proper filing of trip sheets, attendance records, and compliance documents.
6. Leadership & Training
Guide and motivate drivers, operators, and helpers to perform efficiently.
Train staff on company policies, safety procedures, and proper vehicle handling.
Address employee grievances related to transportation and escalate major issues to management.
Monitor staff discipline and recommend corrective/disciplinary actions where necessary.
7. Cost & Resource Control
Control unnecessary idling, overtime, and misuse of vehicles.
Ensure fuel consumption is within approved limits.
Assist management in optimizing transport resources to reduce costs.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: AED4,500.00 - AED4,700.00 per month
